What I Offer

I provide psychological assessment and a choice of psychological therapies including brief Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), depending on your needs.

Following an initial discussion of your difficulties, I can recommend the best therapy or support for you, whether that is from me, the NHS or another service.

Therapy can be helpful in dealing with problems such as depression, anxiety or difficulties in relationships with others. Sometimes people are unsure what is troubling them and a consultation can help to clarify and define the problems. Many problems are the result of abuse, neglect or discrimination and this is taken into account in understanding your struggles.

My practice is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex and Asexual -friendly.

Confidentiality

What we discuss is confidential and I follow professional guidelines on this.

There are some limits to confidentiality, for example, when you or someone else is at immediate risk of harm. This is explained at our first meeting.

Appointment Times

I offer appointments mainly on Wednesdays (face-to-face or on-line) from around 8.30 a.m. until 5p.m. Occasionally Thursday morning appointments are available (online only).

How much will it cost?

I have space for a reduced-cost appointment slot for people on low incomes. Please get in touch to discuss.

Appointments usually last 50-60 minutes. The cost for new clients who are funding themselves is £100. The cost for large organisations or where there are other sources of funding will be from £120.

Initial assessments may need between one and three appointments. If we decide to start a course of therapy, a number of sessions is usually agreed in advance.
For example, Dynamic Interpersonal therapy (DIT) lasts sixteen sessions.
Other therapies may be shorter or longer.
